Troubleshooting API Credentials and Icon Display Issues

Joe Hardstaff:
We have added a new test environment mentortest.fmbetterforms.com but getting this error, I believe we have done the required setup. It is using the same helper and business file as our staging environment. Think we had a similar issue with our production environment and you guys did something to solve it.

Delfs:
does hitting this url create helper record?
https://mentortest.fmbetterforms.com/api

Joe Hardstaff:
No doesn’t seem to.

Delfs:
Are you sure your creds are correct?
If you have a 2nd test env, with same helper you could 2x check with that cred in that working env, but you could also break if wrong.

Delfs:
Note we can not see creds, just log

Joe Hardstaff:
Re entered and checked creds so I can try again

Delfs:
k, let us posted

Joe Hardstaff:
tested, the error posted above does not show on page load now but when trying to login to the app I get this:

Joe Hardstaff:
Credentials are definitely correct

Delfs:
With the link above, /api does that create helper records

Delfs:
that error says just that,
have you configured the script with the new domain?

Delfs:
the mitigations are listed in the error …

Joe Hardstaff:
It does now, and says this in trace log:
@ScriptServiceScript- Helper Inbox Processing - Start
@Service - API - Start
@Hooks - Developer - Transmitter- CONFIGURE HERE - transmitting to your business file
? * Line 1, Column 1
Syntax error: value, object or array expected. test: 100
@Hooks - Developer - Transmitter- CONFIGURE HERE ERROR:

“errorCode” : -404,
“errorDescription” : “unknown error code”,
“info” : “There was an error dispatching to the business file from the helperfile error: 0\rPossible Causes\r- Incorrect /broken External data source\r- Incorrect credentials in the business file (are data api / xml privs enabled?)”,
“scriptName” : “Hooks - Developer - Transmitter- CONFIGURE HERE”
}
@ScriptServiceScript -Helper Inbox Processing - Done

Joe Hardstaff:
have you configured the script with the new domain? I have

Delfs:
new cred in the business file??

Joe Hardstaff:

Joe Hardstaff:
Creds are the same in business file, using the same one as staging

Delfs:
Does the hook run locally from the inbox?

Joe Hardstaff:
Yes

Delfs:
and confirming XML is enabled in the bsiness file?

Delfs:
(for the new cred)

Joe Hardstaff:
Yes but there are no new credentials as they are the same

Delfs:
ok, from the sounds of it, you had re-entered creds and got this new error. so some cred was different.

Delfs:
Following up

Joe Hardstaff:
Still no luck. I’ll try re-entering the creds again (not resetting, just re-entering) and see if that works.

Joe Hardstaff:
Tried again, still same message. Also when I load the page, there is a banner across the screen which should be there, it has an icon of an exclamation mark but it is not showing correctly. See screen shots>

Joe Hardstaff:
We have the pro fontawesome subscription too which is implemented in the dom

Delfs:
@Eduardo Aramizu can you look into this

Eduardo Aramizu:
I can’t tell what could be causing that from our end. I did clear and restart possible places that could be causing it, still getting the same error though

Delfs:
@Joe Hardstaff IF you are on tomorrow I can hop on a call and give a 2nd set of eyes

Joe Hardstaff:
Sorry Charles, I didn’t see this until this morning.
But I have tried again this morning and I can now log on to the environment, but the icons are still showing very strangely. See attached what it is showing compared to what it should be.

Joe Hardstaff:
In Font Awesome we set our own kit up, but did not add this url to the set. I thought it would work with the unique link we get regardless of url. But think that might solve it now.

Joe Hardstaff:
Yep that’s sorted it. So can now log in and it shows correct icons. Thank you.
